Attorney Mohammad Abuershaid began his legal career at a high-profile, high-volume criminal defense law firm serving clients throughout the entire state of California. During his time there, he handled cases of all severities—from D.U.I.’s to serious and violent felonies, and has represented numerous high profile clients, including the family of the San Bernardino shooters.
After two years, Mr. Abuershaid left the firm to work at the Orange County Public Defenders Office. There, in addition to handling thousands misdemeanors and felony cases, he handled specialty cases involving juvenile and dependency related charges. While assigned to the Dependency Division in the office, he fought to reunify families and skillfully advocated for parents whose children were removed from their homes. This broad spectrum of experience allowed Mr. Abuershaid to gain great knowledge of the vast criminal law arena. Despite handling a heavy and demanding caseload, he still provided his clients with the attention and time that he did while in private practice. Through his years at the Public Defenders Office, Mr. Abuershaid formed valuable relationships with many attorneys, prosecutors, judges, clerks, bailiffs, corrections officers, probation officers and judicial assistants—relationships that continue to be of great benefit to his practice today.
Mr. Abuershaid is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association and Orange County Criminal Defense Bar Association. He regularly speaks to students at different law schools through the county regarding his work.
